This easy layered dessert is a YUMMY twist on your classic trifle. We made our Chocolate Cherry layered Dessert in individual sized dishes. This can also easily also be made in a large trifle dish to serve as a family style dessert. We are using Do You Bake's? Choco-holic Eat'em Upcakes for the chocolate layer. Beautiful presentation ready dessert. Not only easy to make but a delicious way to end the meal.

  • Yields: 8 - 10 servings


Cherry Pie Filling or Sour Cherries 1 can (20 oz)

Chocolate Pudding 1 package (3 oz)

Whipping Cream 12 ounces (whipped and lightly sweetened)

Choco Holic Eat 'em Upcakes Mix 1 Box Mix

Milk 1 1/2 cups


1Prepare your pudding, according to package directions with milk. Allow pudding to set up and chill a couple of hours in the fridge

2Prepare Do You Bake? Chocoholic Eat'em Upcakes per package directions, allow to cool on a wire rack. Do not frost. Once cooled completely, cut up the Chocoholic Eat'em Upcakes in bite size chunks (if using individual serving dishes, you will need one Upcake per dish. For standard Trifle dishes, you will need 8 - 10 Upcakes)

3Prepare your whipping cream with a little sugar, to taste. Refrigerate until your pudding has set

To Assemble your Layers :

1Add 1/2 of your Chocoholic Eat 'em Upcake bites to the bottom of each of your dishes (or large dish)

2Cover your Upcakes with 1/2 of your cherry pie filling or sour cherries

3Cover the layer of cherries with 1/2 of your chilled pudding

4Cover your chilled pudding with 1/2 of your whipped cream

5Repeat Layers.

6Shave a bit of dark chocolate on top and garnish with mint leaves (optional)

7Chill for a half hour and then serve
